Captain Sam Judah awarded MBE in Queen's New Year Honours List 2009

CAPTAIN Sam Judah, Managing Director of the GBA Group has been awarded an MBE for “Services to Business and to the Community in the East Riding of Yorkshire”
Having served at sea for 17 years, Capt. Judah came ashore some 22 years ago and has worked within the Ports and Terminals industry joining GBA in 1991. He has since then steered the GBA Group into becoming one of the leading players in providing total logistics services to the Automotive and Shipping Industry. The company’s operations now extend from the Tyne to the Humber and from the Thames to Southampton and Bristol employing over 500 staff. GBA have also recently established operations in India.

Speaking of his honour, Captain Judah said, “I was delighted when I heard of the award and I owe it firstly to my wife and four sons for their love and support over the years.

“I would also like to thank my management and staff whose loyalty and dedication has put GBA in an enviable position as Market Leaders in its field.”

Captain Judah is extremely active within the maritime industry and continues as a member of the Honourable Company of Master Mariners, serving both on the Court and the Technical committee. Also an influential member of the Advisory Board of the Hull University Institute of Logistics, Captain Judah continues to assist students in realising careers both at sea and ashore.

Living in North Ferriby, East Yorkshire, Captain Judah is an active supporter of many local initiatives in the East Riding, particularly assisting young cricketers and footballers achieve their ambitions within local schools and clubs. He continues to support various charities including the Godfrey Robinson Home in North Ferriby, Cancer Research, Hospices in Hull and the Teesside and many others.
