Zero Sickness Rewarded at GBA Group

108 people were rewarded for 1 year’s continuous service with Zero Sick Days. 14 people were rewarded for 5 years. 2 people were rewarded for 10 years and 1 person was rewarded for a remarkable 15 years continuous service with Zero Sick Days. With many operations within the group achieving less than 1% sickness against a national average of well over 5%, the group as a whole has an excellent sickness record.
At the Group’s Operations Management Meeting held on 10th December at the Forest Pines Hotel in Broughton, the 5, 10 and 15 year recipients were invited to a special award ceremony and lunch.
Captain Judah, Managing Director of the GBA Group of Companies commended the recipients on their achievements. He stated “In the current climate, I feel that it is very important to continue to recognise our employee’s achievements in relation to Zero Sickness. Many people would simply stay at home if they were feeling a bit off but it takes real commitment and dedication to achieve what you have achieved.”
The recipients were rewarded with a framed certificate and breaks ranging from a weekend break in the UK for the employee and partner through to a 5 night getaway to some fantastic destinations including Las Vegas, Lake Garda or an Egyptian Cruise.
Commenting on their rewards, Charlie Daddy, recipient of the 15 year award said, “I was really surprised, I did not expect anything especially in the current climate. It was a really nice surprise for me and my wife.”
Stuart Culley from Newcastle said he really enjoyed attending the presentation.
Speaking of her reward, Sara Barnsley from Grimsby said “it is nice to be recognised”.
1 year Zero Sickness has always been recognised by the Group but it was December 2004 when the Company decided to reward employees for 5 years and more. In 2004, 45 members of staff across the group were recognised for 1 year continuous attendance, today that number has risen to 108.
